Salts Mill, Saltaire Village & David Hockney - Yorkshire / by Kat Weatherill

Saltaire Village is near Bradford in West Yorkshire. It is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill and  village on the River Aire. In December 2001, Saltaire was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. 

Salts Mill is an art gallery, shopping and restaurant complex located in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. It is inside a former mill, built by Sir Titus Salt. The mill closed in 1986 with renovation beginning the following year. The mill was bought by Jonathan Silver, he created the 1853 Gallery, exhibiting work by the local Bradford artist David Hockney.
